Vegas Lavish Highlights - Eiffel Tower and Buffets

I went to Vegas with Mom last month for 3 nights, and I was quite happy with how the trip went. I wanted to blog about this earlier, but I only get 20gb of bandwidth a month from my ISP and I could not upload my few hundred megabytes of photos until today. The trip was decided last-minute, budget was tight, but expectations were high. I managed to get my flight tickets and accommodations online for half the price quoted by the travel agents.
The Eiffel Tower Experience @ Paris

We marched to Paris and went straight up the fake Eiffel Tower after we checked in. At first we weren’t so sure if we should spend 9 bucks a person to go up, but when compare to the Tokyo Tower or the Roppongi Hill Observatory, it seemed like a great deal. It was so worth it for the unbeatable view of the Strip and the Bellagio fountain show.

As seen in Ocean’s 11, the Bellagio Fountain Show in MPEG-4 (2.4 MB).
Hotel Buffets
I am a big fan of hotel buffets and I can mentally stretch my stomach and eat a mountain if the food is good.
The Spice Buffet at the Aladdin was voted the most favorite last year, and it was very disappointing. I guess people like it because it serves a little bit of Chinese and a little bit of Mexican and a little bit of whatever food that’s brown. The food was bad and the waitresses had the cheap-dinner attitude. I should remind myself next time, Asian-themed buffets are usually bad because they just deep fry everything and call it Chinese.
Le Village Buffet at Paris was the greatest. Unlike the Aladdin’s, they only served delicate French cuisine. The prime rib was very tender and the Alaska crab legs were so fresh I could taste a pinch ocean in them.

The dessert station was heaven. The table was filled with many many different kinds of cake, pastries and pudding. Each piece was served on its own plate, as if they were individually prepared and each of them was begging to be chosen. I maxed out and ate about four. They were kicking in my stomach for the rest of night and the following morning.

To put things in perspective, it was even better than the Hokkaido dessert buffet, or Todai. Thinking of it gives me goosebumps.
It almost didn’t matter how good or bad the brunch buffet was at the Mirage Cravings. I like the settings because I got to walk around the whole restaurant to get food. Champagne was all-you-can-drink. Horrible sushi but good chocolate cake (7-layers!).

Hey, notice I changed the sidebar a bit?
