If I continue to update my site at the current rate (1 post per week at best), it will take another two months to finish writing about my New Year Japan trip. This post was originally dedicated to the Japanese New Year’s Day shopping spree phenomenon and the art of Fukubukuro (fortune bags), now it’s a mesh up of all the Tokyo photos.

The best thing about Japanese’s New Year, is in my opinion, Fukubukuro (fortune bags). You cannot see what is inside, and yet you can feel it is stuffed with loads of (potentially useless) goodies. Watching the Japanese teenagers shopping for Fukubukuros furiously turned out to be even more interesting.
In the morning I saw jgirls on high heels, dragging their very kawaii plastic Disney luggages that won’t even fit one fukubukuro. A few hours later I saw people losing their balance and falling on the street because they bought too much.

Then there were fukubukuro scalpers.

I did not find anything I must buy, but I felt obligated, so I went line up at Bic Camera and bought a :duh_sg: camera fukubukuro.

Here is a little clip that describes the shopping mall madness. You need to crank up the volume for this.
Oooh, I also went to Asakusa Sensoji, Meji Temple and some other usual places in Tokyo.

This about wraps it up for my days in Tokyo (photoset). :tongue_kao: Thanks for reading this crap.
I was looking through ur photoset and was surprised when I realize that half the photos were taken by the Nikon!
