Project Only 200 – 6: Light Packing

An hour before I had to take off for my trip, I was doing last minute packing as usual. I couldn’t decide which lens to pack, because I had absolutely nothing planned for my trip. The only thing I might want to see is the 1:1 Gundam, but he’s not worth the extra 10+lbs of camera gear that my donkey needs to carry. Then I thought, what if I do something different this time and not bring my DSLR? Oh, I might as well not bring my laptop, then I won’t be able to plan my trip on the go… Hmmm… That sure will make my 999th Tokyo trip unique. You know, I had always insisted on visiting new places, going to different restaurants and trying new things. Well, this time the ticket cost nothing and I didn’t need to take a bunch of unpaid leaves like last year, so I can afford (pychologically) to do absolutely nothing and RELAX.
Life is short but I have already done enough to save the Japanese tourism industry (and JAL still needs to be bailed out).
All I had with me was a few pieces of clothing, an iPhone and a small Canon. Light packing made my commute from the airport to the hotel easy, which has never happened before.

I want one.
Light packing is nice. I had that experience when I went to San Fran.
At first when I saw your heading, “light packing”, I thought you mean this time you also packed big flashes or strobe light or something. :-)
