Went to Aki twice this week. A very nice Japanese restaurant that has been around forever. Don’t know why I haven’t been there until now.
First month is over. Time to get serious on those New Year resolutions if you have any.

My coworker brought me back a Yaoi manga from Japan. I had to put it back into its black plastic bag immediately after taking this photo.

My dad bought me tiny BBQ birdies, so I ate them.
Here’s another way to cook them.

Ronald McDonald greets you with the Sawadee hands. Spent 4 days in Bangkok with my mom. 38 degrees in January is way too brutal. Is it snowing in Vancouver now?
Another 5 days in Hong Kong, then I will head back to Vancouver (and work).

Let’s do something realistically achievable this year.
This photo was taken at The Peak while my mom and I enveloped it on New Year’s Day.
It’s been 2.5 years since I came back to Hong Kong and I haven’t visited my relatives here since 2004. So much has changed since then, and no one believes I am 25+2 now.

In terms of delivering user experience, Amazon is my #1 favourite company. You heard it right, that’s above Apple. The Kindle, its packaging and the un-boxing experience are so well designed.
Here ’s an un-boxing video of the international Kindle. Unfortunately, it does not show you how cute it is when you plug in in the power.
I buy one to three books a month on average (<$100), but I don’t finish one before I start another (Yup, short attention span). Having all of books stored on one device will save me money and space. Finally there is an international version with global free wireless! It was an easily justifiable purchase, unlike white1 and the upcoming white3. I wish I can get ebook credits on the paperback books I have bought though.
