I woke up from a sudden, unplanned nap and realized there was less than 15 minutes left to take my Project 366 shot and have it upload.

…so I just grabbed whatever’ s nearby and snapped.

There was a time when I forgot to prepare my prayer speech for the religious studies class. I looked out the window and saw cars, so I prayed for no more traffic jam.

My DSLR lens collection.
I am thinking of getting rid of the 50mm f1.4 (bought last Christmas). It just doesn’t serve me as well as the 60mm f2.8 macro. Besides, I was never a fan of Bokeh. You can probably tell by looking at how I tag my bokeh shots on Flickr.

On the other hand, it’s not too bad to own them all.

One thing on my toblog list is to talk about all the cameras I own. I used to be hip and use film. Now it’s all 011010011111010010101.

Sick on the Inside, my Olympus XA Camera

I got all hyped up for the New Year’s potluck at Steve’s, because I could finally try out my dad’s Olympus XA. I also have many rolls of unused Agfa film that are no longer available for sale.

Much to my dismay, I saw spots on the lens I couldn’t get rid of. May it be a scratch or fungus, they were on the inside. I googled for repair and disassembly instructions.

Well, maybe not…
Sigh…I can get upset easily when things like this happen. It is a really slick and classic compact camera.

There is a fine line between “I like taking pictures” and “I like photography”. I have always wanted to level up and jump onto the latter. A dear friend recommended a book to me, National Geographic Photography Field Guide 2nd Edition : Secrets to Making Great Pictures. I borrowed it from the library, together with a couple more NG Photography books, and it is definitely a keeper! It is easy to understand and it gets straight to the point. Highly recommended.

(Back from the potluck)
I decided to give the moldy camera a try, let’s see how the party pictures turn out. If the spot did no harm to the pictures, I will try cross-processing next time when I travel.
