I upgraded my flash video player and it uses the new Adobe flash player, instead of the old Macromedia one. Have you upgraded yet?

I went to Vegas with Mom last month for 3 nights, and I was quite happy with how the trip went. I wanted to blog about this earlier, but I only get 20gb of bandwidth a month from my ISP and I could not upload my few hundred megabytes of photos until today. The trip was decided last-minute, budget was tight, but expectations were high. I managed to get my flight tickets and accommodations online for half the price quoted by the travel agents.
The Eiffel Tower Experience @ Paris

We marched to Paris and went straight up the fake Eiffel Tower after we checked in. At first we weren’t so sure if we should spend 9 bucks a person to go up, but when compare to the Tokyo Tower or the Roppongi Hill Observatory, it seemed like a great deal. It was so worth it for the unbeatable view of the Strip and the Bellagio fountain show.
Flickr is a Toy!
I got tired of how little interaction I could get from my old Gallery and decided to pay for a Flickr pro account. The most appealing feature of Flickr is its rapidly developed API (and the Web 2.0 user experience comes in the second), and that is probably why there are so many third-party flickr toys online. It’s so much fun just to read the developer forums and learn about different ways to interact with it.
Here’s a script to migrate from Gallery 1 to Flickr. I have not finished my switch process yet, there is something in the script that I want to change.

Potluck Photos
I have sort of posted these photos before, and here they are again on my new album.

I decided not to upload my photos because the video says it all!

Click here to download the clip (4 min 31 sec, 10.78 MB MP4)
Quicktime or VLC.
Ahm… wait. Just to prove I did went to the party, here’s a picture taken by Mayu.

Merry Christmas!
This is a continuation of the last post. I spent the last few days organizing my gigabytes of files, and here are some old videos re-encoded into MP4 (smaller size, better quality). These are not new and I have posted them in other places before, so you might have seen them already (skip to the end). Quicktime or VLC required.
“Chashu mo nai” (No more roasted pork) starred by Steve, John and me. This video is about the first day of our trip to Hokkaido back in March, 2004. We went to a red light district and spent 50mins(?) waiting in line for some famous ramen. We were told that the Chashu ramen was sold out and hence the title. [4 min 50 sec, 13.5 MB MP4]
Chicken won’t stop singing and my mom says, “Eat your dinner!”. We tried to teach him “Shalala lala”, but he only caught onto the “lalala” part. [30 sec, 1.3 MB MP4]
Paragliding in Kyushu, to be honest I had no idea what the coach was saying. I could never remember left/right in Japanese, not even now. [27 sec, 1.2 MB MP4]
For more interesting and better produced videos, go to macTV Videocast and subscribe to their feed. They have lots of vintage Apple commercials, as well as parodies and animations.
iMac Love Story: A CG clip about an interracial and romantic relationship.
A really old Apple II commercial.
The absolute highlight of my Tokyo trip was to go to KaniDouraku for a delicious crab meal. For those who have been to Japan, KaniDouraku is the chain restaurant with the giant crab. Here’s a picture I took in Osaka back two years ago:

Ready to make some stomach noise? :cheese_ee:

The meal was so delicious and satisfying that, my mom and I made an official statement of going back again next time we visit Japan.
