Not a remastered release. I don’t think I have posted photos from this party before.
April 24, 2004 @ my apartment in Japan
I invited a few Japanese friends over one last time before I went back to Canada. Continue Reading…

The craziest and most guilty thing I did in 2007 was visiting Japan too many times, so here is another belated back-from-Tokyo post.
All Star Don @ 若狭屋 Wakasa-ya
I first learned about this seafood-don chain restaurant from some random TV show uploaded to YouTube. I could not Google for the address because I didn’t know how to say the Kanji name. I was lucky enough to find one when I went to Ueno.
You can order a la carte, or if you are like me and don’t speak Japanese, you can go for the “All Star Don”.
Wakasa-ya is nationwide, despite the fact that they don’t have a website. Here is the one I went to:
Satou Steak House
I went there for menchi-katsu last time, so I knew they got some good beef there.
Magical Pudding @ Ko-men
They used to call this "The Best Pudding in History", but they changed the name to "Magical Pudding" recently. This pudding is the signature dish of this chain ramen restaurant. It really is the best pudding I have had and I go there every time I visit Japan. http://www.kohmen.com/

Merry Christmas!
I guess no one expected me to blog about a trip that happened two months ago, but it would be a shame not to, as it marked one of my UPs in 2007. Most importantly, I am on my way to Tokyo(where else?) and I still have N more hours to kill before arrival.
WARNING: This is a rather long post. It is 9-hour flight to Tokyo, remember? Continue Reading…

There are lots to blog about the trip to Atlanta: the 12 hours of bus ride plus 16 hours of airport layovers, the omgawsum Big Nerd Ranch Cocoa bootcamp, the interesting people I met there, my impression of Atlanta…etc. Photos have already been uploaded to my Flickr.

The Macau photos are up and this is the last batch of photos from my June vacation. Macau, for the most part, was same as what it was 3.5 years ago. I took photos of all the same old colonial landmarks and had some delicious authentic cuisine with my dad.
What makes it the “New Vegas” are all the cheapified Vegas hotel imitations. It is like a fake Louis Vuitton handbag, except you don’t need to look too close to find the difference. The disappointment started before I disembarked at the ferry terminal. Everything was tacky, shiny, golden and cheapo-looking. Most of the hotels suffered from the same problem: the owner and constructors cheaped out and bought the worst gold paint and decor.
That said, I think Macau is worth going. I mean, I would like to visit the fake Disneyland in China, too, just for giggles.

The jist of this post is, on a sunny day I went to Kawaguchiko, one of the five lakes surrounding the great Mt. Fuji, but a big cloud decided to ruin my trip by covering the mountain top. The following is one of the very few photos showing Mt. Fuji. If you are still interested, read on.

I have started uploading photos from my last trip again. If you are subscribed to my feed, you probably have seen some delicious buffet photos from Hong Kong, and some flowery macro shots from Kawaguchi-ko, Japan.
My feed only shows the 10 most recent flickr uploads. Maybe I will upload 10 photos a day until I am done.
